He's my teacher. I shouldn't be alone with him. But I can't help that he's irresistible.
I let the door silently close at my back. He stared at me, and a taut quiet stretched between us.

"I like hearing you play," I said, moving toward him.

He turned, in sync with my slow approach. He looked up at me but didn't say anything. I rested my clammy hand on the cold, slick body of the baby grand. "May I?"

The muscles in his throat shifted, then he swallowed. "Eden."

My knees weakened, like a soft tickling kiss had just been blown against the backs of them. "Is it okay?" I asked.

His gaze held mine like two hands joined. He understood what I was really asking.

"Let me stay," I said. "Please."

"You're going to get me in trouble," he said.

My Thoughts

There are those kinds of books that keep you entertained while reading them but then you completely forget about them. Then there are those books that somehow impact your life to such a great extent, they leave a mark on your soul forever. "A Season of Eden" is one of those books, those that stay with you long after you are finished reading them. The kind that even after your done you are still living in their world. I fell in complete love with this astounding book. There are no words beautiful or accurate enough to describe how I feel about it. When I first come upon this book I was instantly attracted not only by the cover but by its storyline. I knew that I wouldn't regret reading this book and it turned out I was right. There are many reasons as to why "A Season of Eden" is one of my all-time favorite books, but I'll just mention my top three reasons(they weren't easy to narrow down). First of all, the storyline. What can I say, it was amazing. The way every single scene fit perfectly to what the story was about...it was just...wow. This type of plots(teacher-student relationship) usually always catch my attention, however none that I have read previously have satisfied my need to read a book worth of that storyline. With all honesty I seriously cant express my emotions for this book-they are all over the place. The dialogue between James and Eden always had me at the edge of my seat. I was always anxious to see what would occur next in this astounding book. I applaud J.M. Warwick for creating a book that has me completely mesmerized. My second reason for LOVING this book was due to the characters. Eden and James Christian were a huge part as to why I enjoyed this book so much. I loved how Eden was up to anything, she meant what she said and did what she wanted. She never once did hesitated over anything. Her bravery to do what she wanted was awe-inspiring. Although her "I-always-get-what-I-want" attitude was sort of annoying at times, I absolutely loved her character. Eden was a big part of this book, not may times do you see a main character like her. She's like no other female character and she got me to be a huge fan of hers. James Christian(Mr. Christian) well what can I say about this innocent, handsome, sweet and hardworking music geek. He was what females refer to as 'the full package.' James isn't like any main character I have encountered before. He was different in so many ways and I fell in love with him completely. There isn't one single bad trait about him. The way he care for his career, his music and his mother are really breathtaking. The innocence he had to him was extremely attractive and played a large role to my love for him. I could go on about James Christian but I would never end...so lets move on before I do start to ramble on about him. The last reason is the emotions I got from reading this book. They just went over the top. Every single time I thought something was going to FINALLY happen between Eden and James I was wrong. Like I mentioned earlier, I always found myself at the edge of my seat. The tension and excitement I felt were just mind blowing. There were times that I lost interest in the book, like when Eden would be talking to her friends but it never did interfered with my urge to continue reading. In various occasions I found that I would be swooning over James or a certain scene. The emotions that this book brought upon me are indescribable. There were so many feelings that I felt as if I were on an emotional roller-coaster. I really do recommend this book to anyone, I know that if you give it a try you wont regret it. I have given "A Season of Eden" a FIVE STAR rating because of the storyline, its characters, and for making me embark on this emotional journey. Give this amazing book a try and let it leave a mark on you soul like it has to mine. Let it show you that love can be found anywhere and with anyone. Enable it to teach you that when you finally find the kind of love that inspires you, confuses you and excites you, you shouldn't let go no matter the obstacles or the odds against it. Allow this book to demonstrate that when it comes to true love, you can never dream big enough.
